The baby shower with a sense of sustainability

You're not really into traditional baby parties, but still want to celebrate your pregnancy with your friends in a nice setting?
Or are you planning a baby shower for an environmentally conscious friend?
Then I have a wonderful idea for you:
As a small group, you can work with me to sew the baby's first outfit from damaged sweaters.
This is not only sustainable, but also really fun as a group.
Holey cashmere sweaters or shrunken wool cardigans are given a new life in the workshop as baby trousers, hats, loops, cuffs and more.
Wool is the ideal choice, especially for newborns, as it helps the baby regulate its temperature.

Sew your own basic equipment in the upcycling workshop

The workshop is also suitable for sewing beginners, because I will be there to help and advise you.
The patterns are also already prepared for each size, so you don't have to rack your brains but can start cutting and sewing straight away.
All materials are available, even damaged wool sweaters.
However, if you have a cashmere sweater in your closet that is full of holes or too small, you are welcome to bring it along to be upcycled.
You are welcome to state your color preferences for the material in advance.

Your sustainable baby shower in Berlin

4 – 6 people can attend the baby shower.
Please send me a message about which dates are suitable for your group.
I am also happy to offer a workshop on the weekend.
Perhaps such a workshop is also part of a Blessingway ritual, as every self-sewn upcycled unique item contains a lot of love for the baby and the expectant mother.

Things to know about the upcycling workshop

The workshop will take place in the studio space of the cultural laboratory Trial & Error Berlin (Braunschweiger Str. 80, 12055 Berlin, near S-Bahn Neukölln).
A workshop lasts about 3 hours.
This gives us enough time to produce at least one finished piece per person.
You are welcome to come a few minutes early to decorate if necessary or to prepare snacks and drinks. However, I ask that you leave drinks and food out while I am sewing.
After the workshop, you could end the baby shower at a nearby café or with another activity.
